A handful of caravans have been devoted to give the children a place to play and sit during travel and also a place for children to get to know each other and develop their social skills. A caretaker is often there to watch over the children, otherwise the eldest children are expected to take care of the little ones. This is the most protected ring of caravans in the entire network of caravans.

The caravans that house shifters of the clan are always centered around a large bonfire and connected to each other in a massive circle to keep the children and everyone else safe. A second ring is made around the homey caravans by the goods caravans and then the shops and entertainment caravans are spattered all around the double circle to make it even more protected. This set up only works in the plains, the deserts, and Runistra, which is why most of the time they move in a line and only take a quarter of their caravans across the border or into the forests, both to keep the people safe and to avoid losing everything. Most shifters spend their nights chatting with their friends and dining next to the fire.

Inside many a caravan hidden latches and secret compartments exist to place the dying and terminal. This is not an act of indignity, These patients are found at the site of the bloodied battleground or dying in Ethica as well as Falferyn. Since these shapeshifters claim neutral and have many wares the people of Ethica would like to get their hands on, they are allowed passage through the territory, where they pick up those fighting for Falferyn to escort back home. Unfortunately, the people of Ethica are suspicious of everything, and rightly so. These panels were invented to house the victims to keep them save and help the shifters cross the border between Ethica and Runistra. After that, the patients are taken to the nymphs in the Golden Forest. When not in use, many children play in these or hide special toys like their own personal hidey hole.

Accidents happen, especially to people lugging around two-ton wooden buildings on wheels and dragged around by horses, buffalo, and whatever else they can lash to their overly large carts. Someone needs to take care of the injured and ill and oft times people need these healers in the middle of nowhere, without any other living beings for kilometers. So, a special shifter with the academic skills to heal without magic houses themselves in this caravan along with passing healers from other species, sometimes even filled with the power to truly heal and not just distribute medication and bind broken bones.

The shifter's caravans have a wide variety of commerce that they pick up from different parts of Illyria. Beautiful artwork from the nymphs, fresh and dried fruit from the humans in the plains, even weaponry from the fairies, they pile these wares in specially designated caravans dedicated to each race and sell the goods at a price to survive in their journeys. They also sell some of the wares to their own people, if those people made enough money performing and working.

This is one of the busiest caravans in the clan because everybody needs to eat! It is the only non-residential caravan tied to the communing circle chain and they serve food through a kicked-out window and have a variety of treats, free of charge so long as the goods they use to make food comes to them free.
